ABOUT THE STUDY
DruMeBa Inc. in collaboration with the Mobile and Pervasive Computing Cluster, Inclusive Design Institute (MPCC IDI) at University of Toronto and in association with the Geneva Centre for Autism, are currently undergoing a study of a new technology-based assistive device called DruMeBa that combines behavioural therapy approaches, user experience design (UXD), music and gamification design.
Lead Investigator:
Rhonda McEwan PhD, Assistant Director Mobile Pervasive Computing Centre (Inclusive Design Institute), Assistant Professor University of Toronto. Inclusive Design Institute is a research community and regional research hub focusing on the inclusive design of emerging information and communication systems and practices. Recently, Rhonda was lead investigator on two studies that examined the use of mobile devices as assistive technology to kids with Autism in a classroom setting.
Purpose:
Behavioural study on the effectiveness of the DruMeBa game system to assist development of social, communication, and cognitive skills in children with Autistic Spectrum Disorders (ASD).
